Week of 1/11: ICE Out

Friends,

On January 7th, 2026, Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by a United States ICE agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With anger and sadness in our hearts, over 650 members of our community gathered along Concord Pike in protest. We have had enough.

Renee was a 37-year-old mother and US citizen. She was a writer and a poet. She was a member of the LGBT community. She had just dropped off her 6-year-old son at school when she was approached by multiple ICE agents and, per an eyewitness, given conflicting orders. She began to drive away, and the agent fired three shots into her car. She was killed.

Her last words: “I’m not mad at you.”

His first words: “F---ing b-tch.”

The rise of authoritarianism in our country requires loud resistance. I am proud of our community for standing up for what we believe in. ICE does not belong in Delaware. Demask, defund, and abolish ICE now.

Until next time,

Dr. Rob Bahnsen

Candidate for State Representative, District 12
