Week of 1/18: Campaign Finance
Friends,
Today, our campaign posted our year-end finance report. I wanted to share how we did. From September 15th to December 31st, we raised $57,615.98 from 233 individual contributors. Steven and I committed an additional $45,000. We raised a total of $102,615.98.
You should know who funds your representation in Dover. Check out the information below, where we describe our contributors by job sector and state of residence.
Here are some key groups funding our campaign:
Family and friends who know my heart and know that I’m up for the challenge
Doctors, nurses, and other health professionals who know my work and understand how vital it is to have a physician in the General Assembly
People who want legislators who seek input from all sides and can be trusted to make the right call
Steven and I, because we love our community and believe so strongly in our message.
Campaign finance matters. It informs what your representatives care about and who they answer to. Not a single dime of our money comes from a corporation or a political action committee. We’ve built this campaign without special favors or special interests – I answer only to the people of District 12.
As the underdog, we were told it would be impressive to raise $10,000. We raised over ten times that amount, and there’s still eight months left in this race.
Our message is resonating. People want change. They want thoughtful and ambitious leadership. They want someone who will return their call when they need help. They want progressive policies that address real problems with healthcare, education, and the economy.
Thank you to every person who donated to our campaign. Your contribution will make sure that everyone will hear our message. I’m going to work hard to make sure we win on September 15th.
Until next time,
Dr. Rob Bahnsen
Candidate for State Representative, District 12
